Play Money: The Book Project
It's been too long, and there is ever so much to fill you in on. For now, though, I will give you the Big News, which is already five months old and has been a matter of public record ever since this little item turned up in the book-industry gossip sheet Publisher's Lunch last July:

Wired contributor Julian Dibbell's PLAY MONEY: Or How I Quit My Day Job and Set Out to Strike It Rich Sellling Imaginary Castles and Make-Believe Gold, an examination of the world of MMORPGs -- massively multiplayer online role-playing games -- and what they say about the legal and philosophical underpinnings of real-world global economics, [has been sold] to Megan Hustad at Basic by Lydia Wills at Writers and Artists Group International (world).

That's right: Play Money, the blog, is now officially set to become Play Money, the book. And no, I won't be blogging my heroic race to complete the manuscript by the August 1, 2005, deadline, although given how little I have completed thus far, it's going to be plenty heroic.
