@David: Yeah, the prose is troweled on a bit thick in parts, too thick for some. You might prefer something I wrote more recently on a related topic, drier in tone and with a touch more sympathy for the troll:

<a href="http://www.wired.com/gaming/virtualworlds/magazine/16-02/mf_goons" rel="nofollow">Mutilated Furries, Flying Phalluses: Put the Blame on Griefers, the Sociopaths of the Virtual World</a>

I had almost forgotten about this happening until I stumbled upon the article by accident.

I have been mudding for over nearly 15 years and to this day I can honestly say this is still one of the worste cases of what should be constituted an internet crime. And for the record, it is NOT in any way protected by the first amendment. For any statement made by one person about another, that limits their rights, violates their personal being, or in any way mentally injurs someone is considered a crime no matter if it took place in real life or cyberspace. You legal ease junkies can define it better than I, but if someone can be charged with defimation of character, slander, most of all mental abuse, and other such crimes that stem from their real life actions, then so should they be charged for the same and equally destructive actions taken online. There is not an excuse for being socially deviant to such anextreme no matter who/where you are, or whether or not you are a virtual self or the real self. There comes a time when personal morals/values MUST be obeyed. If one cannot abide by a basic moral code and not violate another persons rights then one must be willing to accept any and all repercussions of ones own actions.
